We Walk Our Talk
Our team are an adventurous bunch, from kayaking, four-wheel driving, camping, cycling, marathons, downhill mountain biking and diving off boards that are way too high (you need to ask us more about that one), we’ve got most activities covered. When you visit us to discuss your next adventure, we have real life experience in our team to share and help you prepare in the best way possible.
Four Wheel Driving, Camping Under the Stars, Adventure Bound
There aren’t too many places around Australia that Craig has not visited in his 4WD with his family. At home they have a big map of Australia on which they trace their adventures once they have completed them. He wants to experience Australia from North to South, East to West together with his three kids. They have already spent many weeks on the road together, fully self sufficient and ready for anything that turns up. Craig helps many of our clients who are about to do some serious traveling around Australia to equip their vehicles with everything they need to make for a safe and enjoyable journey.
Marathons, Cycling, “My goal was to run 40 kms in 4 hours before I turned 40”.
Dan achieved his goal at the Adelaide Marathon a couple of years ago and is now training for the Kanagaroo Island marathon which is in its second year. Dan has participated in Bike SA events completing a 155km ride to Victor Harbor and the Tour Down Under. He is sharing many of these experiences with his kids, who unknowingly kicked off his running passion when he began pushing prams around and walking became running. He comments that his kids are growing up “screen deprived” as they often accompany him on his runs, they will probably thank him when they’re older.
Kayaking, Camping, Cycling, Running the Business
Ian owns Roof Rack City and has been in the outdoor business for more than 20 years. A passionate kayaker, he is keen to get more people paddling by making the sport accessible during all seasons. Ian spends many days off road, testing and trialing the products he sells at Roof Rack City to make sure they withstand tough conditions and deliver on their promise. His love of the outdoors has a great ripple effect throughout the business and its clients.
Downhill Mountain Biking, Motorcross, Resident prankster
Lachie won second place in the downhill mountain biking SA State Championship in 2016. He is our resident risk taker. He says that the main similarity between Motorcross and downhill mountain biking is bike control – handling narrow moments between crashing and landing, 60-70 kph speeds, the high and long jumps and a few stacks to prepare for that are to be expected. Lachie is now training for the full state series next season in downhill mountain biking and you will often find him at Fox Creek on weekends with his Scott Gambler mountain bike.
